My grandmother lived through Japan's occupation, the Korean War, and decades of dictatorship. Though she suffered, she persevered. I cherished my time as a child with her, but her passing while I was in the US left me grieving. In her honor, I wrote a book portraying her life as a single day, from dawn to dusk, using the sun as a symbol of life's circle. It's a simple tale of her as a mother and a part of nature.
